Is this diet okay for a fifteen year old?

Question by Stela:
Is this diet okay for a fifteen year old?

I’m planning to go on a diet. I found a “ten day miracle diet”, but then I thought about it twice, since I’m only fifteen. Is it okay if I ate oatmeal and a freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast, lettuce salad (lemon and salt dressing) and tuna for lunch and yoghurt for dinne00r. And may be a couple of snacks of various fruits like apples. Of course plenty of water as well. Is this okay? How much weight will I lose? And how long can I go on this diet?

I’m afraid this is sersiously lacking. As a general rule you need 3 portions of carbohydrate, (ideally wholegrains such as brown rice or wholewheat pasta), 3 of protein (such as eggs or beans), 3 of fats (for example a small handful of nuts or some avocado), 2 of dairy (like cheese) and at least 5 of fruit and vegetables. Out of these, chose ones you like so you’re more likely to stick with it. Drink lots of water and aim for about 1700 calories a day.

    Good luck. X

That sounds a little low, you need to feed your metabolism all day. 5 meals evenly spaced, 400-500 calories minimum each meal depending on your activity level. Starving has the opposite effect.
